Unidentified Flying Mater - The Story :

At Luigi's Casa Della Tires, Guido tries to remove a hubcap from a customer's tyre and ends up flinging it out of the window. It flies past Mater and Lightning McQueen who are driving along Main Street. Mater immediately tells Lightning that it was a UFO and he knew because he'd seen one. Lightning replies with a "what?!" and Mater begins his story.
On a crystal clear night (except for several storm clouds building up behind him), Mater is driving towards a level crossing when the lights start flashing. Mater is puzzled because he cannot see any trains coming, but when he looks to his left, he sees a glowing blue buck-toothed UFO staring at him. He jumps back in fright and starts quivering when the UFO smiles at him. Mater then introduces himself and the UFO introduces himself as Mator. Mater then takes him to his leaders: a pile of oil cans. Whilst drinking, Mater teaches Mator to say, "dad-gum" and also teaches him to tip tractors and drive backwards. Mator also teaches Mater how to fly, which startles Fillmore the Volkswagon bus. As they start flying around Willy's Butte, spotlights surround them and Mator is captured. Mater follows them and realises that his new friend has been captured by the military forces! He then sneaks onto base using his flying technique, quick movements and a disguise to free Mator.
Lightning does not believe Mater, but Mater tells him that he was there too.
As the military forces chase Mater and Mator, Lightning McQueen joins them. Suddenly a huge UFO (presumably Mator's mother) arrives and takes the trio away. She then drops off Mater and Lightning back home before leaving.
Back in Radiator Springs, Lightning still doesn't believe Mater, so Mater tries to prove he can fly. As he tries, his engine makes a horrible spluttering noise and Lightning drives away, begging him to stop. He fails to see Mater actually flying past Fillmore and Sarge. Fillmore, dumbstruck gasps, "Far out!"
In the final scene, Mater meets Mator up in space and they fly away together.

Disney Cars Toon Unidentified Flying Mater

This Friday at 9:30 PM ET/PT on Disney Channel, a new episode of Disney/Pixar’s Car Toons premieres. It’s titled Unidentified Flying Mater, and the short follows Mater’s discovery of a UFO named Mator.

The Disney Cars Toon short is the 5th release in the Mater's Tall Tale series released after the previous episodes of Mater The Greater , El Materdor , Tokyo Mater , Mater & The Ghostlight.

Here’s a clip from the episode, which was directed by John Lasseter, and co-directed by Rob Gibbs.

Heavy Metal Mater And Other Tall Tales Book

A new Tall Tale Book was released by Disney Covering the adventures of Mater with three new tall tales in one fantastic hardcover storybook for boys ages 3 to 7! Mater tells Lightning McQueen how he started a heavy metal band, became a hot-rod racer in Tokyo, and had a close encounter with a UFO! This is a follow-up to Mater's Tall Tales First Book.

Mater ,Lightning McQueen's best friend and side kick didn't get much screen time in the Disney Cars movie , however this heart and Soul of Radiator Springs was one of the most popular and adored characters by kids all over the world. Mater's lived in Radiator Springs his whole life. In his younger days, he used to be a real handful around town, playing pranks on everyone, tippin' tractors, saying inappropriate things at the wrong time, but luckily he's matured a lot since then. Mater's a good ol' boy with a big heart and the only tow truck in Radiator Springs. He run's Tow Mater's Towing and Salvage and manages the local impound lot. Though a little rusty, he has the quickest towrope in Carburetor County and is always the first to lend a helping hand and sees the bright side of any situation.

Since the release of the Movie , Mater turned into a shooting star , starring in 3 Cars Toon Shorts (Mater the Greater , Rescue Car Mater and Tokyo Mater) with an additional 3 new Cars toon to be released on ABC Channel starting this Novemeber (Unidentified Flying Mater , Monster Truck Mater , Heavy Metal Mater ).

Mater would also have a main role in the new animated sequel Cars 2 movie , in which he is involved in a case of mistaken identity.
