Cars 2 Toy Fair - Complete Guide

Toy industry insiders and members of D23, Disney's official fan community were on hand Monday as Disney revved its engines and kicked off American International Toy Fair in New York City in true Cars 2 style, celebrating the launch of its new toy line.

The two newest videos from Disney Living, the official YouTube channel from Disney Consumer Products, highlight the unveiling of the hottest, most anticipated toys at Toy Fair alongside interviews with Academy Award®-winning actor Michael Caine (voice of the charming and eloquent British agent Finn McMissile), and actress Emily Mortimer (voice of his spy-in-training Holley Shiftwell), and culminates with a reception showcasing the more than 300 new Disney•Pixar Cars 2 toys releasing this May.

The resulting line includes new innovations such as Mattel's Lightning McQueen Alive which was unveiled at the event and is the first toy of its kind to utilize touch sensors and cutting-edge micro technology to capture the look, sound, moves and animated personality of everyone's favorite red racer with never-before-seen features in a 1:55 scale car.

The LEGO Group will introduce its first full line of Cars toys consisting of 20 versatile and action-packed play sets recreating key scenes from the film – play sets so detailed that some come with as many as 800 pieces! Among the new line is the Cars 2 Spy Jet Escape, which enables fans to recreate one of the film’s most exciting and explosive scenes featuring Finn McMissile, Holley Shiftwell and Mater (SRP $49.99, available May 2011).
Spin Master will introduce a collection of over a dozen toys including RC vehicles featuring Zero Gravity technology, such as the Zero Gravity Finn McMissile vehicle. Fans can bring this British spy home for hours of intriguing play as Finn McMissile zips across the floor, and front wheels allow it to transition up the wall to continue the adventure (SRP $34.99 available May 2011).

Other notable products include: Hasbro classic board games with a twist such as Cars 2 Monopoly with a round board where players can race Lightning McQueen instead of rolling the dice; Ridemakerz which will deliver a new Cars customizing experience giving fans the thrill of a ride as they build their own vehicle; and the new Disney·Pixar Cars Wood Collection from Toys”R”Us, Disney’s first Cars-inspired wooden toy line.

Ridemakerz Launches New Line Based On Disney Cars Movie

A new Line Of Customizable RideMakerz Vehicles Based On Cars Movie Is Launching In Selected Disney Stores

Another great holiday hit from Disney .
Disney-Pixar joins forces with Ridemakerz to release a new line of customizable toy vehicles based on the Disney Cars movie characters .
Ridemakerz gives shoppers the chance to select toy cars, pick accessories and assemble them inside the store with special tools, similar to Build-A-Bear Workshop for stuffed animals.
Until now, RideMakerz locations only sold cars based on real models. Now, a growing number of RideMakerz stores also plans to carry cars that look like the “Cars” movie characters: Lightning McQueen, Sally and Mater. In addition , selected Disney Stores location will have RideMakerz workshops and increase the Disney Cars Toys offering . The cost starts at $35 each.

New Monster Truck Mater Toys Revealed on 2010 Toy Fair – NY

The New Monster Truck Mater Toys - Frightning McMean & Cars Toons Monster Truck Wrastlin' Ring.

The 107th annual American International Toy Fair in New York City and was more than exciting. In honor of the 1200+ exhibitors showing off their latest and greatest in toys, we thought we’d take a sneak peek at some of the new Disney Cars toys from Mattel that you can expect to find later on this year.

In the Cars Toons shorts (currently shown on Disney Channel, Disney XD and Disney.com), the tow truck Mater tells tall tales that inevitably get his friend Lightning McQueen into some sort of jam. In the future release of The Disney Cars Toon Short , Monster Truck Mater , Mater becomes a professional wrestler who works his way up the ranks from amateur to World Champion Monster Truck Wrestler, wrestling all kinds of characters along the way. When faced with his biggest opponent yet, Mater tags in his “tag team partner,” Frightening McMean.

Cars Toons Frightening McMean by MATTEL mixes monster trucks, wrestling, and the Disney/Pixar film “Cars” into one fun package. This toy features Lightning in his Frightening McMean monster truck wrestling persona.
The larger version of Frightening McMean (Ages 3+; Available August) features a raised chasis, monster truck wheels and a custom paint job. Touch the hood of the car to invoke sounds and soundbites from the CARS Toon that inspired him.

Cars Toons Monster Truck Wrastlin' Ring from MattelMcMean and other CARS Monster Trucks will also be available in 1:55 scale, which is just perfect for the CARS Toons Monster Truck Wrastlin’ Ring (Ages 4+; Available July) which helps re-create the final match showdown from Monster Truck Mater. The ring’s floor is even motorized to help with the ground-shaking action.
