Mater The Greater is the second episode on the Disney Cars Toon Animated Short Series , Mater’s Tall tales . The Short was originally aired on October 28 ,2008 on the Disney Channel , Toon Disney and ABC Family.

The story:

At Flo’s V8 Cafe, Lightning McQueen, Flo and other townsfolk from Radiator Springs are settling down to a sip of oil when Mater does a jump and hits some cans. Mater tells McQueen how he used to be a daredevil, akin to Evel Knevel. A dirt stadium is set up complete with the Lightyear Blimp hovering over the stadium. Mater the Greater enters the stadium and gets ready for his first stunt, jumping a long line of cars. Mia and Tia are also there and look a lot like Mater complete with fake buckteeth. Brian sold two buckteeth for one buck. Mater got ready to jump. He backed up so much, he hit the wall. Then he zoomed toward and ramp. But just before he is about to jump he lands on the first car and drives across then and at the end, jumps over the other ramp. Mater does a whole bunch of stunts: being shot from a cannon through a ring of fire (his hook catches on the ring and burns him), fly on a biplane that spins around (his hook catches on the plane so he doesn’t fall of), and jumping from a high height into a pool of water. But the biggest stunt Mater ever does was jumping Carburetor Canyon. At Radiator Springs, Mater reminded McQueen that he was there too. At the jump, Mater and McQueen get ready to jump. Mater asks the scared McQueen if he is ready and McQueen makes the jump. Back in Radiator Springs, McQueen asks what happened. Mater told Lightning McQueen that he didn’t make it and drives away with Mater the Greater’s pitties following him.

El Materdor – The Story:

Lightning McQueen and Mater drive by a herd of bulldozers near Radiator Springs. Mater tells McQueen that they are just like the one he used to fight. The film goes to Spain in a stadium full of fans. A bulldozer enters El Materdor the stadium and fights Mater. Mater has his red cloth and the Bulldozer chases it. Every time the Bulldozer missed Mater, Mater and the crowd say “Ole!”. The bulldozer gets ready to charge at Mater. Mater taunts the Bulldozer and it charges. Mater spins around and the bulldozer falls over. As Mater turns to face the crowd the bulldozer charges again at Mater, this time bulldozing Mater into the ground. The red cloth falls onto the pile on dirt Mater is under. The crowd cheers. Mater’s hood falls off. Suddenly more bulldozers enter the stadium and charge at Mater. He jumps and all the bulldozers crash into each other. Then a whole bunch of bulldozers enter the stadium. Back at Radiator Springs McQueen asks Mater what happened next. Mater reminded McQueen that he was there too. Back in Spain, the bulldozers chase Lightning McQueen because of his red paint job. At Radiator Springs McQueen told Mater that, it did not happen. With the close release of Disney Cars toon shorts and the scheduled release of Cars 2 – the World Grand Prix in summer of 2011 , Disney-Pixar have been polishing the new characters and the release of new and exciting Disney Cars Toys.

All-new episodes of Disney Pixar’s “Cars Toons,” an animated short series directed by Academy Award-winner John Lasseter with Rob Gibbs co-directing and starring Lightning McQueen’s rusty friend Mater, will debut beginning FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 20 on Disney Channel, Disney XD and ABC Family. They are titled “Unidentified Flying Mater,” “Monster Truck Mater,” “Heavy Metal Mater” and “Tokyo Mater.”

Mark Mothersbaugh (”Devo”) composed the music for three episodes and BT (”The Fast and the Furious”), a prominent composer of dance and electronic music, scored “Tokyo Mater.”

The four new stories follow the popular shorts that began debuting in October 2008 and which have reached 22.9 million Kids 2-11, or 56% of all kids in that age group in the U.S., and 67.5 million total unique viewers.

“Cars Toons” are directed by John Lasseter, (”Cars,” “Toy Story 2,” “A Bug’s Life” and “Toy Story”) and co-directed by Rob Gibbs (”Cars,” “Finding Nemo,” “Monsters, Inc” and “Toy Story 2?). Kori Rae (”The Incredibles” and “Monsters Inc.”) is the producer. Victor Navone (”Cars,” “The Incredibles,” “Finding Nemo” and “Monsters, Inc.”) co-directed the episode “Tokyo Mater.”

bucktoothed UFO named Mator, takes him out for a night of fun and they quickly become best friends. But when Mator is captured by the military, Mater and Lightning McQueen come to the rescue.

“Monster Truck Mater”
Mater is a professional wrestler who works his way up the ranks from amateur to World Champion Monster Truck Wrestler, wrestling all kinds of characters along the way. When faced with his biggest opponent yet, Mater tags in his “tag team partner,” Frightening McMean.

“Heavy Metal Mater”
Mater is a rock star in a heavy metal band. He starts out in a garage band and rises to the top with his hit song, “Dad Gum.” Lightning McQueen joins him on stage in the middle of a huge concert and they rock into history.
