Cars Land Topping Out Event And A Sneak Peak At The Exciting Rides

“Topping out” is a traditional construction event among construction workers and engineers that takes place when the highest piece of steel is installed on the frame of a building. This ceremony, which took place last November marked a major milestone in the construction of this new and exciting land.

As part of the tradition, the final beam is painted white and signed by the ironworkers, steel design engineer and construction management. This piece of steel will be part of the Pinnacle of the Cadillac Range, representing a 1959 Cadillac, whose tail fin was also known as the Pinnacle.

Several key people were on hand to explain the significance of this milestone, including Vice President of Disney California Adventure park, Mary Niven, Walt Disney Imagineer Kathy Mangum, and Walt Disney Imagineer Jim Kearns.

Cars land Topping Out

The media which was present at the event watched the “topping out” ceremony for the Cadillac Mountain Range’s tallest peak. At 125 feet, it’s the most visible part of the new 12-acre Cars Land, which is scheduled to open in 2012.

At the base of this mountain range will be the entrance to Radiator Springs Racers, the E-ticket thrill ride which will headline Cars Land along with other attractions, food and merchandise shops all based on the Disney-Pixar blockbuster, “Cars.”

Cars Land Update : Radiator Spring Racers Carts Test Drive Video

The testing for Radiator Springs Racers is on the go. This thrilling new attraction is set to open in 2012 with the debut of Cars Land at Disney California Adventure park. Vehicle testing is an important milestone in the development process and that means we’re one big step closer to racing through this new land. Testing is expected to continue through the end of July, then the car comes off the track while construction is completed.
The bright cars you see here will each carry six guests through the twists and turns of Ornament Valley. Radiator Springs Racers covers a lot of ground – nearly half of the 12 acres in Cars Land! Check out our video and imagine what this high-speed adventure will be like.

Disney Pixar Cars Carsland Update

New System Tests At Disney Pixar Carsland .

With smiles on their faces, er bumpers, test cars have begun racing around the track for Radiator Springs Racers, a major new attraction scheduled to open with the Cars Land addition to Disney’s California Adventure in 2012.
These cars resemble Lightning McQueen from the Disney/Pixar film Cars, complete with bright red color and glowing smile, but according to the official Disney Parks Blog, they are only part of “early ride system tests” and likely won’t be seen by most guests at the parks. However, the blog does admit that the sounds of revving engines from these cars may be heard in the park.
Radiator Springs Racers is based loosely off of the same ride system that is employed at Test Track in Epcot at Walt Disney World, though the Cars-based attraction should be much more thrilling when it pits two racing ride vehicles side-by-side for an exciting race to the finish.

Work is Still Underway In The 12 Acre Disney Cars Land Scheduled For Opening June 2012

Blending the magic of Disney stories and characters, the legendary adventure and excitement of Route 66, and California's celebrated car culture, Cars Land recreates the memorable town of Radiator Springs just as it appeared in the Disney•Pixar animated classic, Cars.
You're invited to a town built for, and by, cars. All the locals are home including Lightning McQueen, Sally, Mater, Doc and their friends. The whole city is recreated in loving detail — complete with three new attractions. You'll float on Luigi's Flying Tires, dance to Mater's Junkyard Jamboree and rocket through the desert on Radiator Springs Racers

Disney California Adventure

Filled with a sense of enchantment and optimism, Disneyland is the standard-bearer for all theme parks. By comparison, the smaller Disney's California Adventure, which opened in 2001, seems more like a collection of attractions (some of which are quite spectacular) rather than a cohesive theme park experience. And there aren't all that many attractions. That is changing, however, as Disney announced in October 2007 that it has an ambitious five-year plan to transform the underperforming park. According to the Wall Street Journal, the company is planning to spend a whopping $1.1 billion on the project. That's more than it cost to build the original park.

Cars Land

By appropriating twelve acres from what's left of Disneyland's original parking lot, DCA will add a new land based on the Pixar film, Cars. (Isn't there something at least a bit ironic there?) The featured attraction will be Radiator Springs Racers. While Disney hasn't released much official info about the E-ticket attraction, the buzz is that it will use a ride system similar to the one at Test Track in Walt Disney World's Epcot. Since that attraction is reminiscent of slot cars, adapting it for a racing ride sounds like a great idea. Look for hairpin turns, banked curves, and plenty of peel outs. Cars Land will also offer two other, smaller rides based on the film's characters, Luigi and Mater, as well as a Flo's Cafe restaurant

A new expanssion of the Disney's California Adventure park is scheduled to be opened around June of 2012 and as you probably guessed the new addition is Cars Land. The designated area of 12-acre land would be part of a $1.1 Billion expansion plan for DCA (Disney California Adventure Park) is known today as the Timon Parking Lot behind "A Bug's Land" and Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. The new theme park ispired by the Disney-Pixar Animated movie Cars and would include new dining and shopping areas as well as new attractions : The Major Disney Cars-Themed Thrill ride :Radiator Springs Racers (similar to the Test Track ride in Walt Disney World) , and two lesser family-friendly rides : Luigi's Roaming tires (similar to Disneyland Flying Saucers) and Tow Mater's JunkYard Jamboree.
The new rides will include all of Disney's ride features : Technology , Theme , Special effects , Iteractivity , Animatronics , story lines and thrills.
During the makeover Disney would also upgrade other areas of the 8 year old theme park with new movie Toy Story and Little Mermaid themed rides added to the park.
Along with the new Cars Toons , future release of Cars 2 a new line of Disney Cars Toys would be released featuring old and new characters.
