The animated sensation Cars was a big hit with kids all over the world. The movie spawned a variety of Cars-themed toys and accessories. So, we weren’t at all surprised when the hottest name in kid’s motorized toys came out with a Power Wheels Lighting McQueen toy car. What kid wouldn’t want to crawl behind the wheel of their very own race car themed after their favorite movie? There’s more to like than just the name of the toy, which any kid will recognize. Some toy manufacturers simply stamp on the character’s name and call it day. It’s made of durable molded plastic, perfect for enduring numerous bumps and bruises along the sidewalk. The bright red color and animated details add to the enjoyment. We were surprised to learn that the car even comes power lock brakes for additional safety. With the push of a button, the character’s voice says a variety of phrases and makes numerous car sounds. Kids will not only love to ride around in this familiar racecar character, they’ll be thoroughly entertained as well. Somewhat Expensive The Power Wheels Lightning McQueen racecar is somewhat expensive. Most motorized toy vehicles cost a bit more than the average toy. But this racecar retails for $230.00. However, it’s a great toy if you can afford it. There’s a lot to like, especially the additional safety features. And the movie phrases and realistic car sounds are a definite bonus. There’s also a one-year bumper-to-bumper warranty included, just in case your little one loses a wheel or bumps a curb. With a price tag of over $200, it’s nice to know that the toy is covered under a warranty. There is some minor assembly required, but it’s relatively easy. Overall, we think this is a high-quality toy. Kids will learn how to go forward and backwards, and turn left and right all while enjoying the run and excitement that goes along with riding in a car styled after their favorite character.
