Disney short animation , Susie – The Little Blue Coupe , an inspiration for Disney-Pixar Cars?
Susie the Little Blue Coupe
Animated Cars were around way before the creation of Disney Cars .
Susie is a blue coupe with a tan-cloth top. Her journey starts as a brand-new model in an automobile showroom. Susie contends with the ups and downs of life, from driving on fast-moving roadways, to finding a suitable parking space amid the many other automobiles out there.
But as time goes on, Susie begins to feel her age. When she becomes too much for her original owner to handle, she is sold to a used car lot. Her second owner is rather uncouth, and her new journey in life takes her down back-alleys in the dead of night.
One evening, a stranger carjacks Susie, and the incident ends in her colliding with a streetcar. Now a wreck, she’s towed to the junk yard. However, just when her life seems at an end, a young teenager buys her from the junk yard, and gives her a second life as a sleek and fast little hot rod.
This story and many more were , for some extent , the inspiration to the future Disney Cars Movie.
While most of the earlier characters in the animation shorts used their headlights as eyes , the little blue coupe had her eyes where the windshields are located , as the Cars Characters.
