Doc Hudson Character Would Not Appear In Cars 2 |
 Based on an interview with Larry The Cable Guy , who’s been reprising the voice of the Southern-fried tow truck Tow Mater in Cars 2 since last summer, Doc Hudson's Character would not be featured in the sequel.Voiced by non other than the late Paul Newman , the character of Doc Hudson was set to feature prominently in the sequel . However , Paul's death from lung cancer in Sep 2008 has placed Pixar in an uneasy situation to find a voice replacement .“It’s a shame he’s still not around,” says Larry The Cable Guy in the recent interview, “They were thinking about getting a voice to sound like him. But then they decided it would be disrespectful, and I agree. You can’t impersonate one of the greats. |
 “They’ll have some storyline to where he’s moved on or something, and maybe they’re going to do some kind of tribute or something at the end. I’d like to tell you more, but I’m sworn to secrecy.”Doc Hudson , known as the Faboulous Hudson Hornet & Doc is the Judge and Doctor of Radiator Springs . He is a legend on the racing tracks ,Holding the record for most wins in a single season and three in a row Piston Cup Championships in 1951 , 1952 & 1953.Take Care Old Friend - You will be missed. |

OK I love Paul Newman and I understand not wanting to replace Doc in respect to Paul. Does that mean George doesn’t get any respect as Fillmore? George Carlin is the absolute funniest comedian who ever lived and his character returns with the voice of Lloyd Sherr (a professional voice over artist). So where is the George’s respect? Tommy Chong woulda been a great replacement for Fillmore as he is the ultimate hippy character. Not to mention it would be awesome to see Cheech and Chong in the same movie without playing themselves.

All Hudson fans miss Paul very much. We are also very disappointed that DOC will not be part of CARS2

I understand that Doc won’t appear in Cars 2, but I wish they could make some kind a tribute for him and for Paul Newman.
He would’ve wanted them to continue the film without him, because Doc Hudson, the “Fabolous Hudson Hornet” and Paul Newman will be in our hearts and in our cars forever
